Design Manager, IKEA of Sweden AB
Multidimensional innovation : So what is design? At IKEA we translate contemporary design ideas into everyday products. We apply multidimensional thinking and innovation throughout the whole process.
First of all, beautiful products are not all that difficult to develop – producing them at an affordable price is the real challenge.
The IKEA vision : a desire to create a better
everyday life for as many people as possible.
The business idea : a wide range of well-designed and functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible can
afford them.

CREDO: exhibition of the workshop
CREDO (« Cooperation in Research and Education for Design Opportunities ») is a series of international design workshops organised by L’Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique, in cooperation with Cumulus, the Pays de la Loire regional council, and the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud. This is a preliminary show of the results of the 1st session held in Fontevraud from June 10th to June 16th, focused on the theme « To believe ».
Visit of the Royal Fontevraud Abbey
The Royal Fontevraud Abbey is the ideal get-away to combine work with pleasure. Founded in 1101, this historically and architecturally well-known place is one of the showpieces of the Val de Loire region – The abbey is classified as world heritage and nowadays serves as a cultural centre and residence for creators. After a guided visit enjoy the subtle, carefully shaded poetry, and rhapsodic melodies of troubadour musicians (XIIth and XIIIth century), by « Diabolus in Musica ».
Concert at the Royal Fontevraud Abbey
The contribution of « Diabolus in Musica » - a group of troubadour musicians playing music and vernacular poems from the XIIth and XIIIth centuries –reflects the aesthetics, ambiance as well as tastes of the XIIth century courtly society. The recital « Flors Aiglentina » is performed by 2 solo cappella singers (soprano and tenor), who are accompanied by medieval instruments: the lute and harp.
